Supply Chain Tools
PCCO- Product/Containerization/Conveyance(s) Optimization
Analyze and engineer the product to the container as well as optimizing the container
to conveyance to increase and maximize density (minimize movement of material and space inside the plant). To truly
optimize this, an engineer must understand all steps in which a product moves
through its supply chain. With the introduction of MHSI, the necessary data to optimize
the product container relationship will become visible, along with fleet size validation
and total system cost. This helps the engineer make the right decision based on total system cost.
Logistics/Transportation Optimization
Often JIT systems and transportation optimization plans have differing objectives.
JIT systems are designed to reduce inventory, which will often result in an increased
transportation expense. Inversely, transportation systems are design to reduce transportation
costs, which in turn raise the inventory levels forcing plants and suppliers to
make space for added material. With the introduction of MHSI we can accurately depict
the proper balance between transportation and inventory within the supply chain.
Dock Analysis
Truck load and unload times are used to determine dock well utilization and manpower
requirements based on both early production data and supplier truckloads. Brick
and mortar are costly additions to any facility but even more costly if there are
not enough to support demand.
Storage Analysis
This tool analyzes part/container data to determine storage requirements in the
plant based on both early production data and supplier truckloads. This offers a
quick look early in the program at facility requirements for in-plant storage and
options to consider off-site.
In-Plant Material Flow
The system analyzes part/container usage and process data to determine the best delivery
system for both bulk and tote containers. It also identifies optimal routes based
on a pull-type kanban system. Quick revisions based on updated data can be analyzed
and routes rebuilt, if necessary.
Site Material Flow Planning
This module analyzes traffic flow and congestion for the site for waste hauling,
inbound and outbound material delivery trucks, outbound finished goods, and any other
traffic on site. With tight security and typically one main entrance to a manufacturing
site, traffic congestion can test even the best plan.
Decon Center / 3PL Warehouse Design and Execution
This software quickly analyzes part/container delivery, storage equipment, and labor required
for warehouse operations. It includes crossdock, repack, kitting, sequencing and
optimized layouts and offers customers a quick synopsis of requirements first and
then a detailed layout for launch setup.
